With this Blog, I offer a glimpse into the process and goals of being a pageant contestant… Specifically, Being Miss Maumee Valley. I also take pride in providing a positive place to keep up with the Ohio pageant scene. Enjoy, feel free to ask questions and please leave comments!
Greetings! I am Abby Bollenbacher, Maumee Valley 2005. This past June I competed in the Miss Ohio Scholarship Pageant where I was a Top 10 Semifinalist. Miss Maumee Valley is my fifth title (meaning I’ve previously competed at Miss Ohio four times) and my last, due to age limits. When I give up my title in November I will no longer be eligible to compete in the Miss America system, but I plan to remain an active volunteer in anyway I can because I believe in the value of this organization. In six years of competing I matured tremendously as well as earning nearly thirteen thousand dollars to fund my education!
In May I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Communications degree, specializing in Theatre. My higher education career was turbulent and for that reason I advocate ways to improve this phase of life for others as my pageant platform. I have earned three National Championships in Forensics (speech, debate & competitive performance) and am available to speak on either my platform, or an array of other topics. I am also an accomplished vocalist; I also enjoy being an emcee and entertainer. Contact me for an appearance today at missmaumeevalley@yahoo.com.
