Being Miss Maumee Valley

Congratulations to the New Miss North Coast Andrea Andryscik!

I was thrilled when I got the phone call last night that Andrea Andryscik [left] had won Miss North Coast! She has unrelentingly competed in Miss Ohio locals and is so deserving of the opportunity to finally perform in Mansfield. Andrea is majoring in English and Education at Kent State University. She is a vocalist, usually singing jazzy numbers, but I have no idea what she performed to win her title. I am a strong supporter of Andrea’s platform and am excited to see this issue again given a crown and a shot at the state level. It is Youth Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention. It’s not the cheeriest topic, but depression, mental illness and suicide have unfortunate stigmas in our society and people need to become more open and accepting of them.

The pageant's results were:
Miss North Coast: Andrea Andryscik

First Runner-up: Ashley Brown; Ashley is a student at Evangel University in Missouri, last weekend she was Fourth Runner-up at Miss Greater Cleveland.
Second Runner-up: Ashley Hartman; Last season Ashley was Second Runner-up at Miss Greater Dayton, but I haven't any more information about her now than the last time her name graced me blog.
Third Runner-up: Lauren Hogan; Lauren is a fellow BGSU Falcon! She placed at a couple of pageants last year and I am so excited to see her back. She sings "I Could Have Danced All Night" and while I'm not sure of her platforms exact title, I know she is a peer mentor, advocating positive decision making in high-risk situations.
Fourth Runner-up: Katie Camp; Katie was also a strong competitor last year, placing at several pageants including Miss Maumee Valley. Last year she performed a tap dance to "Sandman." She studies Psychology at Wright State University and her platform is Mentoring Through the Arts.

The following photos from Miss North Coast were "virtually stolen" from the Facebook photo albums of Amy Allen and Janelle Zindroski.
Thank you ladies!

I was recently made aware the my blog would only allow comments from registered users; I have changed that so anyone can feel free to leave me a message. Considering this is the beginning of a new pageant season I am especially interested in school, talent and platform information for new contestants and corrections or updates for returning contestants. Thanks!

Congratulations again to Andrea and all the ladies!

  • Your blog is so informative! I was wondering if you are planning on giving the USA system a go or are you done with pageants so that you can get married (I see a lot on here about your long-term bf)?

  • Yeah, I was wondering about that too? Do you plan to go on to USA?

I didn't know you were engaged?!

  • WHOA! Who said anything about me being engaged? LOL!

I thank you both for your comments/questions and I am working on a post that will answer everything. Of course I want to give the Miss MV and Miss AAC news its due time at the top, but look for a new post addressing my future plans soon.
