Preliminary Night 1
Day 5 draws to a close...
Today was a very busy day for all of us.
Abby began her day with her 12 minute private interview followed by a luncheon at the hotel with the local Optimists Club. Fortunately we were able to join Abby for lunch and discuss how her interview went. She feels very good about her interview, which is fantastic.
Shortly after lunch, we went to theatre to watch rehearsal. More than anything, another chance to see our star. Everyone's reaction to her new swimsuit was extremely positive. She looked amazing and I couldn't wait to see her on stage tonight.
Finally it was show time...
Before the actual show began, they brought all of the chaperones and contestants on stage as you can see in the photo below. Abby's roommate is Jenna Wilson. She is standing to the right side of the group of four. I met Jenna when Abby moved into Brenda's. She seems like a very nice person.
Next came what we were all waiting for...time to see the contestants on stage for the first night of live competition. The feeling in the theatre was electric when the contestants made their introductions. You could be deafened by the support many of these ladies have from their families and friends. I only hope that Abby can hear us all the way up on stage as we scream our hearts out evry time she appears on stage.
Ok, the intros are done and a couple of production numbers have past. Now it's time for swimsuit competition. Abby is last in her flight and I couldn't wait for her to appear on stage. She looked absolutely stunning. I may be biased to some extent, but she looked better than she ever has in swimsuit competition and I am so proud of all the hard work it took to get to this moment. I can't tell you how many people told me the same thing.
Finally, I would like to congratulate the preliminary winners for the first night of competiton. The winner of the swimsuit competiton goes to Jillian Dansko and talent goes to Leslie Ondrey. Congratulations to both of you on a job well done!
I have individual competition pics as well, but the computer is not cooperating at the moment and I will add them soon.
So until tomorrow, good night and GO ABBY!!!
