Fab Fives!

Sunday evening I helped my boyfriend, Loren, who is a huge Pittsburg Steelers fan, host a Superbowl party. Needless to say it was a wonderful night! I have to share, the funniest thing was that Loren’s outbursts or “cheering” kept waking up our friends’ seven week old baby, who was arguably the only child present! It was a great time, with the game happening an hour north of us on I-75 (Detroit) and the star quarterback hailing from an hour south (Findley). And my mom even called to remind me that in high school, my brother Monte shared a football field with Mercer County native and now-Steeler, Jeff Hartings.

Anyway, the logistics of their win caught my attention from a superstitious basis. Check it out:

On February 5,
the Pittsburg Steelers won their fifth Superbowl.

BG’s Forensics team just won a fifth CFA National title.

Back on November 5, 2005,
I received my fifth local title…

And on July 5,
Miss Ohio preliminary competition begins, as I compete for a fifth time.

I am not usually a superstitious type of person… I’ll walk under a ladder… but I’m beginning to think that when we select our contestant numbers at the Miss Ohio Spring Forum in April, maybe I should try to get #5!
