Being Miss Maumee Valley

Congratulations to the New Miss Chillicothe, Kristin Haas!

Tonight in southern Ohio the last title of 2005 was given out, Miss Chillicothe. I am so proud to report that the beautiful and talented Kristin Haas [below in the center, obviously] captured the crown! Kristen has been competing for at least two years now and has placed consistantly this fall, making her very deserving of this win. Like me, she attends Bowling Green State University; her pageant talent is dance and I believe she is a dance major at BG. Kristin advocates lifelong fitness to prevent heart desease. My parents love to watch Kristin perform and it was great getting to know her better at both Miss Maumee Valley and Miss Northwestern Ohio; I am so excited that she will also be in Mansfield this June!

While there has been no word on talent or interview winners from this pageant, the 1st runner up was a fellow Forensicator from Miami University, Sophia Davis [above on the right] and the 2nd runner up was the beautiful Katie Camp [above on the left] of Wright State University. Like the winner, both runners up are also dancers. I met both Katie and Sophia at Miss Maumee Valley and I wish them the best of luck as they continue to compete!

According to Miss Sciota Valley, Roberta Camp's Blog, the other contestants were Brittany Skaggs, Heather Strickland, Jessica Evans, Allie Wagner, and Amber Bussa. Also, I was not sure who crowned the winner, as Miss Chillicothe did not have a representative at Miss Ohio last year. Berta also reports that Miss Portsmouth, Nanciann Strosnider did the honors; last year she was Miss South Central, which I had forgotten is a sister title to Miss Chillicothe. (Two years ago both titles were given out in the same night at a double crown pageant; last year only Miss South Central was awarded and it seems this year there will only be a Miss Chillicothe.)

The photo above is thanks to former Miss and Mrs. Ohio, Renee Brown; several others and an audioblog post from the pageant can be found on her Blog,
Crowns of Ohio.

Again, congratulations to Kristin, Katie, Sophia and all the contestants and pageant coordinators!
